The Answer to Life, the Universe & Everything... has finally arrived!

File:Answer to Life.png

My honey meant to tease me for my birthday, as in "aren't you getting so old" (not that either of us have "grown up".) Instead, he triggered a memory... I was 17 when I first read The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and decided that the year I turned 42 would be the best year of my crazy life. One memory led to others which led to a mischievousness glee...

Because, for a few minutes, I had considered accepting age and maturity. After all, "mid-forties" caries some responsibility, does it not?  Maybe for some. For me... the answer to all the greatest questions of my Life has finally arrived. Who knows what the exact question was, who cares? Lol. Throwing caution to the wind, I'm a living, breathing answer to something.

Let me counsel you (in all my great wisdom), if you're over 42, you've arrived. Be confident and do it (whatever it is.) If you have yet to arrive... decide now that 42 will be glorious.

Googling "42" comes up with some wildly hilarious stuff. My favorite (so far) is this list of crazy things:

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/history/42-the-answer-to-life-the-universe-and-everything-2205734.html

I quote a few...

2. The world's first book printed with movable type is the Gutenberg Bible which has 42 lines per page.

12. Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear's spaceship is named 42.

14. The youngest president of the United States,Theodore Roosevelt, was 42 when he was elected.

35. Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has 42 illustrations.

Did you know...

light refracts off water by 42 degrees to create a rainbow

Just because Douglas Adams intended to be completely random in his hilarious book, I am quite happy to snatch whatever meaning I feel like, and make it my own. Like this random rainbow fact from the Wikipedia entry on the Guide.

I'm enjoying some reading Starflower today, which is exactly just right, along with hanging out with family. I have a B&N gift card... but I can't decide what to get...

Which would you recommend?

The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns, #2) Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #2) Deity (Covenant, #3) The Rise of Nine (Lorien Legacies, #3) Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles, #2) The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) The Essence (The Pledge, #2) Hidden (Firelight, #3) Nobody The Raven Boys (Raven Cycle, #1) Reached (Matched, #3) Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin, #2)

*sigh* What a BEAUTIFUL Wishlist!! I'm just drooling creating it. I can't remember all the books I want on my Wishlist... what books have been your favorite so far this year? Or which books are you droolin' to get your hands on next?!

    1. I have Daughter of Smoke & Bone, but I haven't read it, yet. Maybe I'll read that first, 'cause I might NEED Days of Blood & Starlight NOW!!

  3. I want so many of those. o.o The only one I've managed to read was The Raven Boys which was quite good. DoBaS, The Golden Lily and Scarlet are the top three out of those that I would get though. ^.^

  4. Happy Birthday! I have only read The Raven Boys, Hidden, and Rise of Nine. They were all good. I have Reached waiting on my shelf to read and Days of Blood and Starlight I just got from the library today. I have Scarlet pre-ordered. I would recommend The Raven Boys because it was fantastic and I read it, so I can recommend it. :)

  5. From you list,I would suggest Reached, since it is the end of the trilogy. Aren't you curious to know how it ends? *.*

  7. Happy birthday!

I love Hitchhiker's Guide, it's craziness works with my brain :).

That is a really great list of books to choose from. I love Richelle Mead's YA series (although I was angry at the end of both of her adult series). The Rise of Nine is also on my TBR list, I'm excited to get back into that series.

I wasn't that crazy about Hidden, but that is just my opinion, one of my friends loved it.

  9. ALL of them! Oh, okay *sigh* I know is not possible to get them all because some of them are NOT (sadly) (VERY sadly) out yet.
BUT, well, Hell-O?! The Golden Lily(!), is what I say. Then again, you have to read Days of Blood & Starlight & then tell me how it IS.

You know what? Scratch that. THEM ALL. Nailed.

Now; in which language should I sing Happy Birthday? If anything, I think I should do it, like, in private. I don't want to hurt anybody's ears. & you should use something on your ears, too, while I sing.
    *HUGS*
Congratulaciones!! (As in Congratulations + Felicidades).

    1. Merci vokooo!!!! *HUGS* You can sing. jajajaja It can't be worse than my bro's rendition of the Mananitas. Or my goofy family who picked 5 different keys to start in and just went with it.

Hey... YouTube!! That would be... more than memorable. jajajajaja

JK. I squirm in the limelight anyway. I've had plenty to last all this awesome year.

I do need them all. :-) We shall see!!!!

  11. Happy Birthday! :)
From that list, I absolutely adored (to the point of making my all-time favorites list) The Raven Boys (Maggie Stiefvater has the most amazing characters and her writing is nothing short of breathtaking) and The Crown of Embers (and I only liked, didn't love The Girl of Fire and Thorns, so I was absolutely blown away by this sequel).
